TO BEard OR NOT TO BEard . That is the question!
So its a month since I joined here and I guess that although my profile has been browsed there is something putting women off making that first contact.
I always thought from reading the papers that as soon as you got yourself onto a dating site you were inundated with e-mails from women. The truth is a little different to that. Although I did get a number of e-mails at first , as soon as I put photos up , the e-mails dried up.
Ok, I have been told that my pictures aren't exactly portraying me as a bubbly , fun-loving person , but its a bit difficult to do that when your taking the photo yourself and I am not exactly photogenic in any case. Of course it could be the beard. The one thing in my life that has stuck with me through the years. Since growing it at 17 , it has been with me through thick and thin and even though we have been "on a break" a few times we have always got back together in the end.
But maybe its time to say goodbye for good this time. A new life , a new hairless face. It will mean getting up 10 minutes earlier to shave every day , but isn't it worth it if it is the cause of my lack of responses?
On the other hand, it is part of me! Do I REALLY have to change how I LOOK to get a date?
I nearly did the deed tonight but chickened out at the last moment (the story of my life?) so I guess I will leave it up to you . If you think I should shave it off , let me know. I will see how many votes I get between now and next Saturday and make a decision then.
OMG ... will I really go through with it ... who knows... you decide..
Its 01:34 in the Big Brother House and I haven't had enough red wine yet!

Hi, do you want this woman's honest opinion? Although not usually a fan of beards myself, yours does suit so I think you should leave it alone, unless you are a Brad Pitt look alike underneath. You are comfortable with it and you have a great sense of humour, so be who you are. To be honest about your pic, I do not think it is the best you can have. I understand the problem with taking the pic yourself but you look so serious! no indication of the humour you so clearly have. So be yourself and if you can put another pic of yourself on showing a bit of a smile that could work for you!

On my profile I have different looks and this seems to be quite good as women get to see if they prefer you with or without facial hair.

It's a bit cold to go "[censored] faced"! Wait until this cold snap is over to make the decision! Have another glass of the old red nectar and things won't seem so bad!!

Having a beard teaches patience and that's a virtue!!
Be true to your beard...and wait for the right person.
PS A beard does tend to add a few years though- unless trimmed back a fair bit
