I'm sat at my friend's flat in Leeds, chillin with a cold beer and a smoke.

It's Friday night and I feel great!

The music is on (Kings of Leon), people are starting to arrive and I had a great ride over the Wolds and thru the Vale of York. The sun was shining and the traffic was light. I made good time. My Triumph is running just right.

I'm here for the usual get together, only something feels different this time..and it's bugging me because I can't quite put my finger on what it is..

My friend and his long term partner are doing great - I've known them longer than 20 years and they are as solid as a rock - some things never change. I'm single (three years now) and getting fed up with chasing e-mails to no avail - might have to start getting out more but Leeds on a Friday night doesn't appeal to me these days...and I gave up drinking....I must be getting old or heaven forbid - boring?

Another of my friend's is coming over and I know she has been single for a few weeks. She knows me well and has already made it clear that she is not interested in dating me but we are good friend's and that is precious to both of us. We both know better than to screw up a friendship like this for a bit of fun...but I'm feeling restless, she's arrived and looks great (as usual)..we have the usual hug - I have missed her company a lot lately..she kisses me on the cheek and looks me in the eye I catch a glint and once more hope springs eternal...

so what happens next?
