single granny
As a single grandmother, I would like to hear some ideas about dating. We are committed to our grandchildren, but we still want to date, have fun, enjoy relationships - everything the 20 and 30 somethings do! Any ideas?

I agree with londonbill, your only 49 so drop the granny bit and be you again. I'm an uncle but I don't market myself as Uncle Jon. I am also a dad of a 3 yr old and just 5 yrs younger than yourself. Its all relative to how old you feel. I still go to clubs occasionaly and I enjoy it, so you should just carry on doing what you like.
Cheers
Jon

I noticed you put the emphasis on being a grandmother?..that shows the way you are thinking perhaps. Dont think of yourself as a grandmother, more a woman who still has a lot to offer in a genuine relationship.Of course you love your grandchildren, but dont confuse being a grandmother as a lost cause in finding a new start!....You are a young woman with much to offer the right man i'm sure. Being a 'granny' is simply a bi-product if you like, of being a parent....And remember !...its only a progression of your life...Not a way of life...It's up to you how you think of yourself, regards of the knocks and falls you may have suffered in the past. Think positive and ignore the negative thoughts....Tips on dating??....Dress up, put some 'slap' on and dare yourself to explore your real dreams and desires. Remember!..many a young man finds a lady with experience very appealing!...as well as the older guy. x

Not all men are predators, there are a lot of us who are just normal down to earth blokes, who would love to meet somebody. Not just for [censored]; but for companionship. okey maybe later on in the relationship, but respect has to be earned on both sides, again you don't have to be "stunner" looking at your pic ecclesgirl you are very attractive lady (pity I would need platform shoes to take you out....lol) just keep looking there are a lot of us nice un's out there.

You don't look like a 49 y.o Granny and even if you are- it shouldn't be overiding mind set. You look fantastic and should not feel inhibited. Just go out and do the things that the 20 and 30 something do- you won't look out of place.
